Sustainable Food Security: The value of systems thinking
In 2015 I was asked to design and create a Massive Online Open Course (MOOC) for Wagenigen University, together with a team of teachers from Animal Production Systems, Plant Production Systems, and Environmental Systems Analysis.
The course is entitled ‘Sustainable Food Security: The value of systems thinking’. It was very inspiring and creative to work with Prof. Imke de Boer, Prof. Martin van Ittersum, Prof. Caroline Kroeze, Dr. Gerrie van de Ven, and Dr. Eddie Bokkers and together design the course outline, content, video clips, and assignments.
Moreover, I had the honour to make over 200 digital illustrations. The course banner is one example (see left)– you can find more examples of illustrations in my portfolio.
We illustrated the course outline with a flowchart (see below), which was a very helpful and creative way to give a clear and visual overview of the course structure and content.
